Gleaning Hope Program
Inland Valley Hope Partners sponsors the Gleaning Hope Program with the goal of bringing fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables to the families we serve. This program pair volunteers with local residents who wish to donate nutritious, unused fruit from the trees in their yard. With your help, we provide a gleaning crew that will travel to residences and glean (pick) the fruits and vegetables. The harvest is taken directly to our food banks in Claremont, San Dimas, Ontario, and Pomona. This program provides the homeless and hungry with fresh produce that often is not affordable to them.
Since its inception in 2011, the Gleaning Hope Program has gleaned over 30,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables.
1. If you have any fruit trees or vegetable patches in your backyard—or if you know of neighbors who do! - just contact us and we’ll send over your own personal gleaning crew to pick your fruits or vegetables.
2. Volunteer: We usually do gleaning assignments.
